Sharks President

From the desk of Sharks President, Sebastian Buccheri.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank, outgoing President, Scott Marsden, for his tireless efforts over the past 3 years to place the club in an enviable position.

I am honoured to be chosen as the President of the Hillside Football Club. We have some work ahead of us as we negotiate our way through what can only be described as strange and unprecedented times. Now more than ever we need to support each other, providing a level of normality that we have yearned for since March.

Over the coming months, the committee will meet and plan for season 2021, this will include setting budgets, planning events, solidifying sponsors, generating ideas and appointing junior coaches, all this whilst we understand what we can do in a COVIDSafe environment.

2021 is going to be a big year, we are looking at fielding 20 teams across juniors and seniors, including two teams each of Snr Women’s, Supers and u18.5 boys. An achievement that needs to be applauded.

Off field we have exciting developments to undertake, including the expansion of the clubrooms and a second ground for junior football to be announced.

I look forward to working with the committee, you our members, our stakeholders, our coaches, and our players, to continue the good work and strengthen our position as not only a football club, but a community organisation.

When we face difficult times, know that challenges are not sent to destroy you. They are sent to promote, increase, and strengthen you.

We (committee) cannot do this alone; your support is paramount. Together we can achieve greatness.

Please do not hesitate in contacting me should you wish to discuss anything at all. I look forward to seeing you all in person and enjoying a face to face chat.
